I felt disappointed when the wabi sabi seeker expressed such an unimaginative, limited use of his native language, English. I thought, "O, dear! How will he be able to have an in depth conversation about the philosophical and aesthetic qualities of wabi sabi, the Japanese?" I really appreciated the tolerant patience of the monks, and yes, it can be a relief to say, "I don't know."
